Richmond District Council use Infor System 21 Financials for their accounts and bespoke systems on another System ifor council specific software e.g. Business Rates, Housing Benefits, etc.
IMS were asked to support the System 21 software in its entirety. There were many outstanding issues which needed resolving and users had become disillusioned with the system. IMS consultants not only spent time with key system users to identify and resolve their problems, but also undertook research with other staff users. The backlog was quickly cleared leaving IMS to concentrate on evolving the system to deal with new requirements.
The successful System 21 support has led to IMS being retained to support the other systems on the System i. These are bespoke applications written in-house in RPG, and although there is often little knowledge of them, IMS has employed its breadth of technical skills and competencies to reduce the backlog and are currently developing new systems to cope with legislative changes.
