IMS were asked to come up with a solution to quickly upload customer orders into the Company’s existing system. Currently they were received in a variety of forms, printed out and then keyed in.
IMS assessed the current processes and developed a standard order template in Excel. These were then loaded onto the AS400 and then imported into System 21 using standard interface files which did all of the necessary validation.
This resulted in a very fast and accurate customer order process and because of this, the process was then rolled out to cover all sales orders received. Currently 80% of non EDI sales orders are now processed in this way.
