IMS were retained to assist with the migration of the financial systems of an acquired Company on to the host Infor System 21. This included the full understanding of what was required and the mapping of all business processes.
IMS held sessions with key users to understand their requirements and to provide them with training for System 21. Work was undertaken on mapping data and testing of the transfers, both of static and transactional data. Where appropriate, ‘work-arounds’ were found when the two systems were not totally compatible.
At ‘go live’ the two data sets were reconciled before users were allowed to use System 21.
Throughout the project on site support was provided for all financial departments. Additional training and support was also given where required. Reduced support was given until the first month end, when full support was given to provide management figures.
The successful migration resulted in more efficient and effective use of System 21, with better trained system users.
