IMS is in an enviable position in having a wealth of financial experience to support its customers. Managing Director and founder, Simon Sherwood, has nearly 40 years’ experience of working in finance departments and has an appreciation of the pressure that staff are under. This extensive knowledge is invaluable and often as the first point of contact, has meant that IMS has been able to properly understand the issues at hand. Many of our clients fully appreciate the ability to speak to Simon for advice on an issue, something that other companies do not provide.
Over the 25 years that IMS has been trading, Simon has worked extensively with finance departments to resolve their issues to make them more efficient. This may be improving the processing of supplier invoices or the submission of Returns to HMRC.
With his detailed understanding of how business works and how System 21 (Infor software and Aurora) operates throughout the business, he can properly advise Financial Directors on best practices. This knowledge is not restricted to one type of organisation, the knowledge has been used across all market areas including and not restricted to manufacturing, distribution, media, and finance companies
Many of the IMS clients rely on Simon for his advice in problem solving and resolution utilising the information provided by the system. He has been called into many clients to assist with reconciling stock, GRNI, ledgers and bank accounts. He has also been involved in fraud detection and the investigation of financial discrepancies.
Simons’ experience has been invaluable in many finance projects, he is able to relay complex business issues to understandable project terminology so that the IMS technical team properly understand and appreciate the customers’ requirements to enable the supply of a suitable solution. His knowledge of finance combined with an extensive knowledge of System 21 has meant he has been a valuable conduit between departments. Many finance departments retain Simon so that he can liaise with production or the warehouse to resolve issues.
It is difficult to document exactly what Simon has been involved in, but projects range from a new company set to implementing World Trade.
