Touch Base - Keeping you in-touch with IMS |
IMS were selected to prepare the GEAC System 21 master data migration to SAP for Grampian. The project was carried out over two sites, within very strict time constraints, so as not to delay the SAP implementation going live before the start of the next financial year. Understanding the system requirements and mapping them efficiently was key to a smooth transition whilst making sure the original data was clean and current. IMS also identified areas where System 21 could still benefit Grampian. This project is the latest in a long relationship between Grampian and IMS, resulting in six projects over the past year or two. |

EZARCHIVE—A profile of an EZ Product |
Ezarchive, designed for the AS400/iSeries environment and bespoke in-house solutions can, unlike old fashioned archiving tools, be scheduled to run when and how long you want it. All you have to do is specify how many records you want processed during the run. Simple or just plain EZE. Some of the main benefits to users are obvious such as allowing you to control when and how long your archiving procedure takes rather than the other way round. But let us not forget that the real reasons for archiving; keeping data current and system responsiveness. Industrial surveys have concluded that most systems are only operating at between 50 to 80% efficiency due to poor archiving and system maintenance. Food for thought. |
